PH-2 Superphaser Mods

The two issues I always had with my phaser were 1) it gets mushed out in the mix and 2) it is a one-trick-pony that I really only used for rotating speaker emulations. These mods gave me a whole new device, especially my Pulsar mod.

These mods are of my own design and I have not seen them anywhere else. The schematics are well documented and available all over the internet. The LFO Disable mod is perhaps the simplest, yet most effective. If you turn the Rate knob all the way down, the rate does not go to 0, but rather a very low frequency. To disable the LFO rate, short across connector pins 14 to 16 as shown in the diagram to the left. This effectively disables the LFO rate. The Rate knob will no longer be effective but the device will turn into a filter/EQ - by adjusting Depth, Resonance and Mode, you can get tons of different sounds. This is very effective for making a Humbucker sound like a Single Coil pickup.
STEP 1: Locate Connector pins 14 and 16 and add Jumpers With the PCB flipped over as shown, the connector numbering begins with 1 at the left. Here, pins 14 and 16 are circled. I added 2 wires to each pin for the switch.
STEP 2: Wire the Switch Next, wire a SPST switch across the two mod wires.
STEP 3: Wire and Test Fit Wire up the switch Then test fit it in the enclosure. This is a shot of both LFO mod switches. The switch at the bottom (underneath) is the LFO Disable Switch.
